Ted Piltzecker, vibraphonist and composer, is a dynamic and engaging performer. He has played in New York area concerts and clubs with guitarists Gene Burtoncini and Vic Juris, bassists Andy McKee and Todd Coolman, drummers Lewis Nash, Andrew Cyrille, and Clarence Penn, pianists James Williams, John Hicks, Bill Charlap, and Harold Danko, trumpeters Ryan Kisor and Jon Faddis, and with saxophonists Chris Potter and Steve Wilson. He appears as a featured soloist in percussion festivals around the world - Hannover's Deutsches Percussion Symposium, London's Percussive Arts Society (UK), Brazil's Ritmos da Terra, Mexico's El Festival de Monterrey , the 1st Encontro Internacional de Percussao in Tatuí Brazil, the IX Festival Internacional de la Percusion in Puerto Rico, the 1st International Percussion Festival in Patagonia, Argentina, and theFestival Internacional De Vibrafono Y Marimba in Lima, Peru. His has been a soloist with the Tucson Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Delaware Symphony, and Regina Symphony orchestras. European engagements as a jazz headliner include the esteemed UMO Jazz Orchestra in Helsinki (guest soloist/composer) and several tours of German clubs and concert halls. His performance experience also encompasses world and ethnic music, ranging from the Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble of Tokyo, to the tango, to classical chamber music.
